Yogi G's Weekly Wisdom - Introduction

Spring Season is upon us. Yesterday and today temperatures reached 70 degrees at my home in Lynchburg, Virginia.  The weather is a signal of Spring beauty to come. Today I led a Yin-Yang Power Yoga practice with the theme of "Awakening with Spring".  The Yin flows included Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) with the slow, relaxing, deep stretches of a Yin Dragon Flow.  The Yang flows were energetically powerful Ashtanga Primary Series Sun Salutation A including jumps and squat flows.  As the dormancy (Yin) of Winter gives way to the energy (Yang) of Spring and Summer our spirits are awakened by the beauty of the Creation and the bounty we are given with the new season.

I am so excited this year to be leading Yoga Workshops and Power Yoga Series at Carolina Power Yoga each month during 2014.  The first event is a 5 day Power Yoga Series, the week after Easter, April 21-25, 2014 with the theme "Celebrating the Energy of Spring".  Each 90 minute Yoga Practice from 9:30 til 11:00 AM will be filled with energetic flows to stimulate the body, focus the mind and awaken the heart.  This will be followed by a two day (90 minutes each day) Restorative Yoga Workshop over Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, 2014.

Check Carolina Power Yoga's FaceBook for the events available this season, sign up on line or at the studio.  Discounts are offered for those signing up with a Class Pass for each series or workshop.  Also follow me on FB at Yogi G - Yoga Workshops for helpful hints, affirmations, pose breakdown, and beautiful photos and inspirational literature you may find interesting.  I also include Likes to outstanding Pages, Yoga teachers and resources.  We look forward to seeing you at one of these wonderful events, or others on the FB Events Calendar.  I will be contributing to the CPY Blog on a weekly basis this year, so be sure to check in periodcally.  Blogs will focus on physical and emotional benefits of the Yoga Practice.  OM Shanti, Shanti, Shanti, OM - May you be blessed with peace.  Namaste,  Yogi G  Gary Sullivan
